Established in 1991, during the the Gulf War Crisis, the American Language Service (ALS) International, has rapidly become one of the most mainstream and highly respected American English Language Training Services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. ALS provides professional, results-oriented, and cost-effective ELT services. ALS has operated training programs in various Saudi Arabian manpower centers in the Eastern Province, as well as throughout all of Riyadh Province.
In addition, our professional American teaching staff is able to offer high quality services on a full-time as well as part-time scheduling. Our Service has on retainer, American consultants from various United States Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), academic and cultural agencies, Saudi Arabian ministerial, public, private, and university advisory committees.
Our highly professional staff of American Language Instructors give ALS students the benefit of both training and experience. ALS instructors have specialized degrees and training in teaching English to Saudi Arabian students. Most of them also have firsthand experience of other cultures, so they understand and are sensitive to differences in languages, customs, traditions and religious practices. In fact, many of ALS’ full-time, as well as part-time, teaching staff has an extensive academic and working knowledge of the Arabic language.
Furthermore, on account of the dual/multi-lingual capabilities of our language teaching staff, we are able to offer, in our curriculum, English-to-Arabic as well as Arabic-to-English media of instruction training programs incorporated into our English for Specific Purposes (ESP) Course.
To meet each student’s personal, academic and professional needs, the curriculum is divided into (5) five language learning levels – beginning through advanced. It includes grammar and pronunciation, vocabulary and idioms, listening/speaking and conversation, reading, writing, academic and professional counseling along with other optional topics.
